Lash Aftercare

Extension Aftercare

If you have received extensions, you must wash your lashes 1-2 times daily with a specially formulated lash shampoo (more information on this below). Do NOT use baby shampoo or micellar water as an alternative.

*You MAY get your lashes wet after your appointment. There is no need to wait 24 hours*

Brush your lashes daily with the lash wand provided at your appointment. Brushing your lashes not only promotes the growth of your natural lashes but will also keep your extensions looking their best! Please be gentle when brushing and avoid doing so when the lashes are wet. If possible, it is ideal to use a handheld fan to dry your lashes. Otherwise, let them air dry slightly before using the wand to brush them.

Do not apply mascara to your extensions and do not use a lash curler.

Only use oil free products on and around your eyes.

Avoid rubbing, picking and/or pulling at your lashes/extensions.

Try to avoid sleeping on your face/lashes as much as possible.

Avoid excessive heat and/or blasts of heat; Please use caution around ovens (open first with your face away from the oven as the initial blast comes out), bbqs, lighters, fires etc. The heat can cause damage by singeing the lashes and/or relaxing the curl of the lashes. If you feel you have singed your lashes, please reach out to me directly right away to discuss and assess.

WASHING YOUR LASHES: The health of your eyes & natural lashes is my number one priority, and it should be yours as well! Washing your lashes is so important for many reasons including hygiene, eye health and lash retention. Having synthetic extensions creates the perfect area for dead skin cells, makeup, dirt, dust and other debris to catch and build up at your lash line. If you do not wash your lashes daily, debris can build up and cause issues such as ; eye infections, eye conditions such as blepharitis, excessive lash mites and more! Washing your lashes daily is not only a must for your eye/lash health, but it also increases your extension retention! Protect your eyes AND your investment.

DIRECTION FOR WASHING YOUR LASHES: The key to washing your lashes is being gentle but effective. Use 1-2 pumps of lash shampoo onto your extensions or lash cleansing brush and begin “painting” it onto your lashes in a downward motion. You may also cleanse your eyelids and undereye. The “painting” motion alone is not enough for a proper clean. You may also do a micro scrub; Pick a small section of lashes and do a gentle scrub or gentle circular motion. Then move onto another section and continue until you have covered all areas of the eye. Be sure to rinse well after you have finished. Do NOT use a towel or cotton to dry the lashes as they may catch and tug. As mentioned above, a handheld fan is the best method for drying.

Lash Lift & Tint Aftercare

I use high quality and innovative products which allow you to get your lashes wet immediately following the treatment. I do, however, recommend avoiding super-hot showers, steam, saunas & swimming for 24-48 hours after the treatment.

Things to avoid during the first 24 hours are; Sleeping on your face, applying makeup to your lashes, exposing your lashes to heat and applying any lash serums.

After the 24-hour mark, if desired, you may wear mascara for an extra boost. However, you must avoid waterproof mascara and use oil free products on and around your eyes.

Do not vigorously rub your lash line – rubbing will be required for the removal of mascara so using make up daily may in-directly affect the longevity of your lift.

Brush your lashes daily with the wand provided.
